Upscale Suburban CCRC Leverages Design to Attract New Seniors

August 13, 2010 by admin

Meadowood – Worcester, PA
This large, upscale, suburban CCRC attracts active senior adults who maintain their independence and live in several  optional environments on their 100+ acre campus; from spacious stone carriage homes to apartments and  studios.

The Scenario

When this facility was founded there was a private home on the property where Meadowood sits and where the planning for the community was born.  This home, now absorbed by Meadowood serves the community as a Guest House for family and friends who are visiting relatives or friends.  It is available much like a “Bed & Breakfast” on campus.

In addition, the community holds social activities as well as lectures, etc. in the Guest House and may hold committee meetings, etc.; sometimes simultaneously.

The Guest House offers four bedrooms with adjoining baths, a large living room with a vista overlooking the rolling landscaped lawn, dining room, new kitchen utilized by food service providers, residents, etc., Library and expansive hall.

The Solution

The furniture solutions developed complemented the style of the home, encompassing period style furnishings, as well as custom crafted pieces  – all by Turning Point. The complete turn-key solution from design through furniture, window treatment, artwork was provided through Turning Point.  Working closely with the management and the original family members of the home, we gained insight into the “character” and quality of the expectations.  The quality of the furniture designed included the commitment and the values that met those expectations.

The Outcome

Turning Point created home-like, workable and livable spaces within the budget quoted.  Unique, customized product within a shortened timeframe was designed to accommodate Meadowood’s requirements.
